Do you really need a 250, I'm just running in a new Swing125 and see very little difference in it or a 250, with Honda build quality it should last.

Motza, for your information I have ridden two X9 500 SLs and an Evo 500. I also rode an X9 125 and found all of them bar the Evo a bit weird to ride. The X8 conversley rides lovely.

Fair enough :)

My 250SL seems to ride OK. Its not as nimble as the Leo but they are two different scoots.

Sym 250 options around the price you need:

Oh just spotted this too, though may go above your price range, it's worth watching:

To be fair im sure a 125 would suffice but I think as I have a full license I somehow feel I should have something bigger. Having said that owners have said a 250 maxi scooter uses less fuel than a 125 as the engine is labouring less.

That myth is easily dispelled by having a look around on fuelly.com

I'm sure my Xevo 400 gets about the same mpg as my Honda Dylan 125 did as I don't need to thrash it so much, but at 120kg I weigh nearly as much as it did!

I had a GTV 250 which gave the same economy as my Xevo 400, both around 80mpg. My PX125 from 2007 gave around 90mpg so not much in it really. Weirdly, a friend has a 50s Ariel 650 which regularly gives 80mpg so not much progress made over 60 years!
