Re: new scoot..
maybee you are feeling "new bike itus" the mpg will defo drop once run in and used normally... it leans/looks more towards a normal bike than a scooter.... and a burgmans huge luggage space will soon be missed... personally id wait till the revamped/tweaked 2nd edition comes out...they always have niggles on the first model... have you considered a burg400 if you want better mpg..?

not bad just very different, i have been doing some searching on the net and it is a very odd setup. they have twisted the crank to get an uneven firing cycle
Yamaha's TRX had a 270 crank and Triumph have a few bikes with 270 cranks.
The only reason for it is to make it sound and feel like a v-twin.
Which is stupid really, they should have tried to make it as smooth and vibration free as possible.
...and the Yamaha TDM, AND BMW's new scoots. Its supposed to be more 'bike' like. I haven't tried any of these, but I think I'm with you as thinking its a silly idea. One conclusion from people who've ridden both the new Tmax and new BMWs is that the Yamaha has a much smoother engine.

I take your point...but it looks so dull that slating it for that reason from a photo is quite justifiable!Hanzo1974 wrote:Good review, and good to hear a review by someone who has ridden it and not just looked at a photo and slated it![]()
