Spoken to MotoGB. Can confirm the MaxSym 400 is every 6000 miles or 6 months. New service books due to arrive....

My dealer suggested the Maxsym 400i when I went in to order my new Burgman 400. Though they didn't have one to have a look at I perused the brochure and I must admit I was tempted, especially as the Maxsym is a whole grand cheaper than the Burgman. Well, £500 if you factor in the lack of ABS, heated grips etc the 400Z has. In the end I decided to pay the (effectively) £500 more for the 400Z for Japanese quality, as Syms are a bit of an unknown quantity as far as I have been able to ascertain. I'm not saying that Syms are low quality, just that with Japanese you know you are getting quality.
