As for Tarka getting a dogging for his comments, a few weeks ago there was quite a few posts on here moaning about the fact you now had to wear hi-viz/reflective stuff over in France.

He's got a dogging for being a dick. If he'd said 'i don't want hi-viz to be mandatory' then fair enough, his choice and opion.

Like some have said, wearing hi-viz should be down to personal choice, rather than forced.

But he's insulted those that do choose to wear hi-viz and has slagged off Maxi-muppets ride-outs /attendees in general. Ie... i'm less inclined to attend one, more like a builders convenction.

Then his second post is very troll like... enjoying the negative reactions to his post...

I used to always wear my (dayglo Derek )vest through personal choice as well as being a learner, I don't bother as much these days though l do my wear 'totally dayglo Derek' builder's rainproof jacket when it pisses down as it does give extra visibility in the poor weather. Do I look like a knob? ...probably...do I care .. no. I certainly wouldn't slag a fellow rider for his personal choice,

i wear green on my scoot most of the time but if its cold and wet i wear

this jacket its not high vis but makes me stand out

Has there been any studies on hi vis on bikes, and if so, what are the results? I suppose there must be some research out there somewhere.
