It doesn't exactly expand the envelope though does it! You can already buy elec scoots with the same spec right now, and probably for less than Merc will charge.

But there will always be a market for "aspirational prodcuts". Especially in this country where so many people seem to buy automotive products on the basis of fashion, and not because it is most suitable for their needs.
BTW, last week I saw both a Renault Twizy and a Vauxahll Ampera: the Twizy is quite clearly stupid, but the Ampera? Yeah, I'd buy one.
