Somethings just dawned on me if you think £15 a year is expensive to keep rust and corrosion a bay
then you've got a problem in fact after the initial coating you'll find in hard to use a can a year.

Some owners find any cost for preventative maintenance too expensive, yet shell out lots of dosh to dealers for overly costly servicing due to difficulties in getting things undone. Dealers love to boast about the 'little extras' they charge for, that if you did your own preventative maintenance, they wouldn't need to do.

I had a Vespa PX for seven years, never used ACF 50 and just washed and waxed it regularly. Not one bolt ever seized or went rusty, like wise with my Xevo. Im sure ACF 50 is excellent for those who dont maintain there scoots appearence with hard graft though

i always put a bit of grease on any bolt i undo and put back in
but i will be spraying it with some Dinitrol or ACF50 ,just makes sense to me

I'd try this, but there's probably too much rust already

ah yes dinnitrol, Ive some of that as well great stuff, different types for different metals, their website explains all,

yes its brill!! , not cheap , but total protection, when used properly

What is the best method?
I am collecting my Brand new Triumph Bonneville on Saturday and would like to apply some of this from the start

Well if you're not worried about spending a little I'd get All Year Biker to treat the new bike, that way the ACF50 gets properly atomised and will get everywhere and continue to protect all the areas you can't easily get to or see. The can is OK but doesn't go on as well, I paid out for this as part of an owners club deal on a previous bike (TDM900) and was very impressed.

I had my Tmax given the full treatment by the All year biker guy - he was a little non-plussed by it, as he'd never done a Maxi before. Bodywork wise, the Tmax positively gleamed - and still does actually. Part of the deal is to spray ACF50 in various places - I assume he did that, but out of sight, out of mind.

The problem with mine is that the Centrestand is appallingly rusty - not totally sure what to do, as being a mechanical moron, I don't like to try and take the stand off, what with all those springs etc, but I guess trying to paint it in-situ will be a waste of time.
