I certainly agree with that summary it does somehow capture the differences. I don't think we'll reach any conclusion on this, hence only answer is personal ride and selection, these sorts of posts often turn into slanging match from owners of the two machines, but maybe we'll be lucky this time!
So to counter your comment on weight the engine is about as low and forward as you can possibly get so not really any issue. The stability it provides made it far easier for me to filter than my previous Xevo 400.
OK it's not too great pushing the thing around, but provided you've reasonable garage and access all you do is park it @rse end in and simply ride away, they move easier when the transmission is warm rather than from cold.

True, if you're buying new, though I recall they used to be pretty similar until Suzuki amended their pricing upward (several times) thanks to the global financial decline & Honda sensibly didn't.
On a secondhand purchase there's nothing in it and if you're talking total cost of ownership we'd need to consider higher Honda servicing costs & bigger fuel bills (allegedly)

Yeah...IMHO the Burger is a Pan European disguised as a scooter, whilst the Silverwing is basically an enormous Vespa! I must admit that my experience of the Silverwing has been limited to a half hour ride though.

Enormous Vespa eh, I've yet to see a Silver Wing kitted out with a dozen mirrors, and a front carrier with a black bin bag full of junk lashed to it. |
Well, there's some inspiration for you! Get to it! Can't look dafter than the one T&G mag had in full Repsol Honda GP bike livery...

There does not seem to be many new Silverwing in showrooms, being phased out?

My local dealer doesn't stock Silverwings because they don't sell very well.

I never liked the silverwing, mainly due to tge dashboard and the weird looking rear, but a quick glance to autotrader reveals that you can easily get a low mileage 2009+ model for less than £4k whereas the equivalent burgmans on there are a grand more. Makes me wonder if its really worth the extra premium...
The price alone can convince one to oversee aesthetic issues.
Meldrew, what forum do you recommend for more silverwing info?

....so since he doesn't stock them, he probably doesn't sell many!!!
He's probably sick and tired of telling people there's no demand for them......
