Mike from Rubber Ranch came and fixed me a new set of tyres tonight, and i can highly recommend his work. He knew what he was doing and was a very friendly chap. He was able to squeeze me into his schedule although he was not available till tomorrow, he came around 7:45 and finished the job in 1,5 hours. He took off my rear and front and replaced with a set of bridgestones.

He seems to be in business for some time now (since 1998) and was knowledgeable on many aspects of bikes. He complimented on the quality of tmax and said he was surprised to see a 2003 bike in such a good condition, with no rust or sign of age.

I noticed how easy it was to take the tyres off when he did the job and he mentioned that tmax wheels were much easier than other maxis (burgman/silverwing) to take off, as on other maxis there are subframe or exhaust bits that needed taking off usually before getting to the wheels. there were simply nothing apart from calipers to take off.

When he took off the rear wheel, he showed me another nail already that logged itself inside the tyre apart from the main rip. As for the main rip, he found a piece of utility blade that caused the tear. He also showed me the inside wall of the tyre which was damaged and i mentioned i rode it back home on flat tyre about 6-7 miles knowing that i'd need to change it anyway.

I had Continental fitted to the front of my old mk1 a few years ago. It seemed dangerous so I went back and they fitted another,, that was as bad so I opted for a Michelin Sport which was good.
I've had Bridgestone, front and rear on my mk2. They seem very good but are very expensive.
