I "honk for mobiles". Followed by a slow head-shake if they bother to look over.

That driver needed a wake up call and maybe Sylar has nudged her in the right direction at least for her own good. The only way for things to change is for massive numbers of police on the roads and zero % tolerance and I'd hate that more than the occasional silly car driver me thinks, but ask me again after I've been carved-up on the motorway and I might have another view. icon_spin-on-head.gif

Too true, the amount of stories where people stand by and do nothing while people get mugged/raped/burgled or need help while people just gawp and take photos is not good. I would intervene to help someone in trouble and I hope someone would help my loved ones too.

When i spoke to her it was in a friendly manner, and we were not arguing or being confrontational. Iam not "Holier than thou" i would expect anyone passing through my town to obey the speed limits, as my family may be crossing the road and be at risk. It is not that hard to obey the law, whether on the road or off it, something a lot of people seem to forget these days. She actually stayed behind me for a while till i turned off, just maybe, she realised what she was doing was dangerous, and who knows she may be a safer driver now, or, at least it made her think. :)

I get the theory. But the fact is that you're riding a couple of hundred kilos of plastic and she's sitting safe and comfy inside a cage that could pound you flat if she wanted. I'm one of those guys who runs toward the trouble instead of away from it, but giving a stranger a driving lesson, no matter how courteous the delivery, is a bit different than running down a mugger.

I don't know how people in France or the USA, might react, but in England if you say things with a smile most people don't take offence. I don't get were your comparison to "chasing down a mugger" comes from. I never claimed to be any kind of Vigilante. I saw something wrong and had achance to talk to someone about it, that was all. :)

Just replying to folks who talked on this thread about standing by and doing nothing when bad things go down.

There are so many lousy drivers on the roads, I'd spend my whole day smiling and being polite to bungholes if I thought that it was my business. But that's me...

Great sig Waldorf. It's everyone's business when idiots like that girl behave in that way. She will easily kill someone one day if she continues with that sort of driving. There is nothing wrong in phoning the police though and tipping them off with reg no. Police will often act on an urgent call if they can as long as you stress she could have a serious accident. Though with the Olympics just starting, I doubt there are any spare traffic cars around at the moment.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!
