Welcome, Im working in London for the para Olympics and very surprised at the amount of bikes and scooters on the roads,
Maybe look at a 250/400 for size or at least test ride some to see what you would miss if you got a 125, some 125 only produce about 7 bhp upto about 13 bhp , but a 250 can give upto 22 bhp and a 400 gives 33 bhp . There are loads of pcx in London, so people must like them.

I think the PCX is a cracking scoot even considered one myself but I do think you would regret it. My ST200 goes well and I am happy with it but I know I would have become unhappy with something with less power than my ST very quickly.

That Gilera is looking good! my budget is 2.5k max, i def want to go to the scooter route as bit fed up with big bikes etc.

I believe they do build a larger capacity PCX for Malaysia or somewhere like that but nothing for the UK sadly. The Gilera 200 is great as they are light and chuckable so a good compromise and the leader engine is a reliable unit if serviced on a regular basis. Its also a peace of piddle to change the oil & filter once you have done it once. I would probably have bought a vespa GT200 or GTS250 if I hadnt bought this but gorgeous as they are you need to watch them closer for rot.

yep its very nickable but I would think a PCX would be particularly nickable too as everyone knows its a 125 which I guess makes it very attractive for tea leaves to sell on. I guess you just have to protect it with a good lock and make sure your insurance is up to date. I personally buy things because I like them. I mean why should I not buy something I like because some scrote wants to nick it

true, i like the PCX styling better and more storage space

still, its on the cards until i do buy soon.

Ever considered a Honda SH300i? Quick, good for A roads, motorways and filtering, big wheels, ABS and legendary Honda reliability. Not a good looker mind, but does the job.

If you're sticking to 125cc, the Vivacity has better stowage and a 12v outlet and is currently only £1599.

The PCX gets start-stop and costs a grand more. Hmm...

The PCX is very slow for a 125

I wouldn't want to take one on a dual carriageway or motorway as it can't get near the national speed limits, whereas I would do it on faster 125's

If you are only pootling in town around town it doesn't matter but it might be part of weighing things up.
