Protective trouser advice

FWIW, I've got Richa Monsoon trousers. Not the cheapest, but they come in 'normal' and short leg lengths, and I wear them as overtrousers. They've got a waterproof membrane, removable thermal liners, and hip and knee protection. Works for me!

Any thoughts on these, they're half price and come in shortarse leg length with fatty waist too

I don't know if this has been said already, but trying trousers on in the shop is different to sitting on the scooter/bike, I bought a pair of 29in leg ones once which looked great when I was stood up, but as soon as I sat on my nexus they rode up to the top of my boots and looked stupid, so the next pair I bought were 31in leg and sit lovely when riding. As for JTS they are brilliant, excellent customer servive and have Jacket and trousers at rediculous sizes.

they are cheaper on their ebay store so i can get them for £41 delivered, i like the fact that they zip up the sides to make it getting into easier

I'm going to Hein Gerrick in dudley tomorrow, if i cant find anything there i'm ordering those trousers!

I wear Rukka trousers all year, unless it's stinking hot / over 30 degC. I think they're "Unit" ones? got them on special at a MCN Bike Show a few years back.
Very comfy in hot and cold (removable thermal lining), well designed, completely waterproof - no crotch-puddle

I've got a Hein Gerrick Master V jacket, which is good. Might be worth checking out the their gortex (or whatever their name is for it) trousers? The "bonded-gortex" is less fuss if you can afford it.

Hein Gericke (and most other) Gore tex stuff is terribly expensive IMHO - is it really worth it?? If you are touring the world and need one set of gear for every conceivable weather, then maybe, but otherwise I have a whole range of (cheap) jackets which I pick the most appropriate for the current weather. That said, I tend to wear Hood Jeans more or less all year round!!

I ordered the JTS Ace trousers from my first link, the fact that they were half price because the colour wasnt exactly black did it for me! i'm a 34" waist 29" leg and ordered 36" waist with 31" leg so hopefully should fit fine.
