I was out Saturday, what a lovely day for a ride warm sun and no wind great stuff . I went out on Sunday as well, not as warm but a very enjoyable ride over the Yorkshire Moors and ended up at Morecambe. I noticed not as many leather bikers out but still enough. I prefer this time of year and early sping to summer, as a lot of people don't ride and i can have the roads mostly to myself especially the country lanes i prefer. I did commute by bike for over twenty years so i don't really mind the rain or the mider weather(i hate to be cold) my heated vest and insoles seem to keep me warm enough. Perhaps thats why i prefer to ride alone, others seem to think i'm a bit mad. I rarely go more than three days without riding. This year i'll take some pics of the bike stops in winter it should make a change. I spent most of today fitting a new(to me) rear brake caliper on my Burgman 400, so now both front and rear have nice new pads, can't wait to put some miles on them to bed them in.

I think it's also a matter of what bike you have as to wether you venture out in bad weather. Some bikes/scooters are definitely better than others in my experience. I've always ridden in the wet, wind, ice and snow and never had a problem. I've never had an off in 42 year wet or dry, summer or winter, except years ago before Ultraseal a slow puncture in the rear wheel nearly killed me. That aside, this is my first year doing this scootering malarky! I don't know how the Burgman will handle in 6 foot deep snow, and 90mph winds. And how will it do when it comes up against a tsunami? Luckily, with my dirt repellant paint and leak proof wind in the tyres, I will be ok on that front! But dunno about the rest! I'm quite looking forward to the first icy mornings...what's wrong with me? (dont' answer that!)

This morning there were noticeably far fewer knobs riding around - whether sports, paris-dakar, vespa suits, t-shirt and flip-flops, or whatever type most get your goat. Just the obviously experienced, highly skilled, sensible types wanting to make good honest progress through the traffic on their way to work.

So you obviously don't have a car or brains come to that as for riding in all weather I've
got a t-shirt some where that might fit you,I've grown out of it !

I have a car, a scooter, a road bike and a MTB. Not many t-shirts though. I have some brains, although my edjucashun stopped at A levels.

But I think i I've missed the point you were getting at though.

Fit a ski to the front and a caterpillar track at the rear. It'd be a sort of modern Kettenrad

I find CVT awful on slippery roads, my PX was fun in the snow... but scary!

The best motorbike i have ridden in the snow.Thats Easy the mightie Honda C90-Step-Thru.Light/no power/get stuck just pice it up turn it ride away,the worst my Honda sh125 scoot.but ridding my push bike is good in the snow/ice dont get cold just ride past all the stuck cagers,+ useing the park is brill.

The MP3 is fun on ice as long as you remember that it will go whichever way IT wants
