I'm kind of wondering what differentiates this from the Kymco Downton 300, the Sym GTS 300, Yamaha Xmax?? What does it have that they don't? Apart from (probably) a higher price?

MPG.

I'm betting that this will blow the competition away on fuel economy.

After testing the PCX 125, I wished they had that in a 250\300. Now they have, all but name it's a PCX 300? Claimed 87 mpg, holds two helmets and that very low rider seat looks so comfortable and inviting.

What a super looking bike. From the engine specs and what is being said on the reviews I would think it is aimed at trouncing the GTS300's, the Kymco's & Syms. It has more power than the GTS300 and more torque. But less power etc than the others. Should be a goer though. Nice one!

Nice to have another 'smaller' CC Maxi with a 'normal' CVT. But 24.5hp? The Downtown & new SYM GTS
both develop 29hp. My GTS 250 develops 23.4hp @ 7500rpm.

Honda claim 87mpg. SYM claim 106mpg with the new GTS (at a constant 30mph). I'm not sure sort of
speed Honda's figures comes from. But my GTS 250 does high 80's mpg at A road speeds, low
90's in busier summer traffic.

350km/220mile range? My GTS typically does 360km/226miles and brims with 11.5L.

The only way i'd interest me is if it totally undercuts The downtown/new GTS, the downtown being £3999.
The Honda would have to be no more than £3499 to even interest me.

Still like i've said it's nice for there to be another small CC maxi out there. Especially with all the larger cc
scooters out recently.

Drago, have you breathed on your GTS250? Even the GTS300 only puts out 21.5hp, about 22ps, and 22nm of torque. The new Honda puts out only 24.5hp but has nearly 26nm of torque at just 6krpm which should make it considerably faster off the mark than many. I think Honda are using the international motorcycle fuel test figure which is lower than someone doing a 30mph run, but I confess to not having full knowledge of what speeds or tests are involved in the international test.

Just checked my manual the SYM GTS 250i produces 23.4PS, so yes it's actually 23HP @ 7500.
Torque is 2.3kgf-m (16.6lb/ft or 22.5nm) @ 5500rpm.

The older carb version is rated at 21PS (20.7HP) @ 7500rpm. 2.2kgf-m (15.9lb/ft or 21.5NM) @ 6500rpm.
The GTS EVO manual has different specs though. But my GTS is a older non EVO model.

Also the new GTS has 27.5NM of torque @ 6500rpm so more torque at a little higher RPM. Still think the Honda
will need to be at least £500 cheaper than the Kymco or SYM to be worth it. Though dealer location can influence
this, for me the SYM dealer is closest, 10miles for honda: 25miles.
