The Satelis ad says it is an Executive. If it is it will have both ABS brakes and the ABUS system, making both the safest and most secure of any scooter in your list.

The photo of the instruments seems to show the ABS warning light but there should also be a badge on the o/s of the front mudguard. The ABUS system is identified by there being a large hole in the rear bodywork just below the boot opening - see pic

Knew it wouldn't be long until you turned up harping on about Satelis's and ABS. ;)

An interesting dilemma!

I was going to give my experience of the Burger 200 as they are basically the same as the 125, but thats an older model! My newer Burger 200 is quite well screwed together and comfy, with loads of luggage room. On the other hand its no ball of fire, and the suspension is a bit primitive, but fine for urban commuting.

Leo - I used to love my Leonardo 250! Pretty rapid, comfortable, sublime handling, big luggage space (if a bit narrow for some helmets). Mine was a Yamaha engined version, newer ones are Piaggio engined, don't know which one this is - I'd guess its a Yamaha one. Mine was pretty reliable. 31000 miles shouldn't be a problem if maintained properly - check the service history. The Yam engine is a bit agricultural but reliable. It doesn't have an oil filter, so it needs quite frequent oil changes. Terrifying in M-way crosswinds, but you say your commute is urban so maybe not so much an issue. You need a screen, but otherwise weather protection was fine.

I'm a power junkie so I'd go for a 250 over a 125 everytime! I think the Leo could be worth a look, but condition and how much love its received will be crucial.

Id go 250 out of reach of learners not used by learners and less thrashing that 125's get 250 either leo with yam engine or 250 majesty or x9 with honda engine or an old burger 250/400 all simple carb models no fancy electronics to go wrong .

Interesting about the Satelis - I have my suspicions about this bike, and its a fair trek up to Chorley and then back again on the M61 on a 125, but the price combined with features may be worth it. I am surprised the seller doesn't make a point about the ABS. ABS on a 125, and that price, why isn't it sold already? And the seller making issue with "tyre kickers" - what did they find? - Perhaps the entire left hand side which is not pictured is a mess? Does the ABS work? Arrrgh :-? - I don't know! Hunts in Manchester have had a 5000miler Satelis 125 in their showroom at least since September, on at £2300, which I think is the one the seller is referring to. Sales guy in Hunts said last Sunday people just aren't interested in it - they come in for a look and leave with an S-Wing. Just could be that the Satelis is just not fashionable. Certainly not many around according to HowManyLeft.co.uk.

I was going to write some guff about the X8 not been ridden since June and not wanting to be the first on it and riding home. But you've all come back and said don't worry.

I'm pretty sure, based on the year that the Leo is the Yam engined one. I heard about the oil changes, but to me, its not really a Maxi, and despite it being on for a while, I haven't the budget for the scoot and a screen.

Keep it coming people - its all going on board.
