How is the nc700 dave? Compared to the maxi scooters i mean... Do u feel you made the right choice or will you eventually go back to another maxi?
Data, i think its impossible for me to go anywhere over 13.2 miles/ltr commuting in and out of london. On a long stretch yes but i did my best to not go over 4000rpm and plan ahead in a hypermiling state of mind but still havent been able to do any better than the current consumption.
I'll update fuelly once i fill it up today and see the real consumption...

Yeah...4000rpm is not a very economical engine speed. It's much better to get the revs up if you can to nearer 5000rpm when she really starts to run very efficiently and you get a disproportionate improvement in fuel economy. At 4k the gearing will be low too all adding to low consumption. At 5500-6000rpm she can easily hit 82-84mpg on a mixed run. In town and doing lots of traffic dodging it's going to be lowish. I've yet to go lower than 73mpg, even with some commuting. I wonder what you're machine does on a run?

Sorry! I meant 5000... I looked back at the photos of the dashboard to determine what it actually was... At 4000 its barely moving anyway. I keep it at 5000 when the road is clear and it does about 42mph at that engine speed. That is rare though because its usually stop start traffic in london.
In comparison my tmax was around 45-49 mpg in winter. That was the proper brim to brim calculation. I am yet to see the real calculation on the burgman because it will be the first brim to brim fill up today since buying it, but according to the on screen display it's 13.1 which means 59.5mpg

That sounds about right for the sort of running you are doing. It may improve slightly as you get more used to her and your engine loosens more. Not bad though.

Having had burgervans since yr 2000 up to now, I found that 180 miles is a SAFE limit before looking to top up. 75-76 mpg I can get on my 2011 model at my normal pace out and around. Of course if you wish to push it!!! then look for 150 or so as safe.

It would be safe out of city stop start traffic but in london rush hour jungle usage and winter time i think i stretched it as far as it could ever go (see my other thread:
