Usual sexist advert, what a weird voiceover.
I don't like the scoot at all, it looks to short & uncomfortable.
Anyway, I was in a Yamaha shop on Monday, completely ignored by the men who work there, so they don't get my money.

I'm not to sure of it. I personally don't mind the looks but...
31.5hp from a 400cc? How'd they manage that? Luckily being 211kg wet it's power to weight ratio
is on par with heavier 33hp 400's. It's not to badly priced either, for a Yamaha anyway, it makes it only
£400 more than the SYM maxsym. I'm also not sure of the big exhaust either, getting at the
rear brake caliper will be tricky and at Yamaha prices expensive I bet! Also it looks like the
ignition has no protective cover to go over it like many scooters do now.
I do think it's still okay though. I like the dash, decent sized brakes, storage looks reasonable and
it's lighter than most other 400's. Also It's got a price tag that brings it down to the Italian/Suzuki/
Taiwanese scooters. The Majesty was way to expensive and priced itself out of the 400cc market.

There again....yes its OK, and a reasonable price by Yamaha standards, but why is this supposed to be better than the Maj400 it replaces? with 1.5bhp less, and dodgy Tmax lookalike panels...

Hopefully the engine characteristics have been changed to give more area under the graph and better fuel economy.

I don't think it's meant to be replacing the Majesty 400. Both the X-max 400 & Majesty 400 are on the Yamaha website. Going by the advertising by Yamaha this isn't a Majesty replacement... it's a X-max with a 400cc motor. They mention more power but of course it doesn't have more power than the Majesty but it does have more power as they quote than the X-max 250. They also mention the 'max' in the X-max family. It's just a more powerful X-max and it's just happens to be a £1000 cheaper than the Majesty. I suppose it'll have far better performance than the 250 X-max and mpg won't be to much lower.

Hmmm I may be a cynical git, but I smell marketing speak! Its got a Maj engine (mostly) - it looks the same size as the Maj, same weight, and those rear 3/4 panels look identical to the Majs! If its a grand cheaper, then that is one big thing in its favour though!!!
