just a thought, what about the xmax 400 ?

Frankly I wouldn't touch Keys with someone else's barge pole. I wouldn't pi$$ on the place if it was on fire. My opinion, no offence meant to anyone...except Keys! :D

Get into CD Scooters again and ask to talk to Kevin. If he can help, he will.

Keys offered me a very good trade in but I did not like the Yamaha, and it was Kevin at CD scoooters I spoke to. Anyway picked up a great deal on a SYM Maxsym 400i and brought it hoime this afternoon. Well impressed see my other posting I have put some pics on

Reading back that figures now. I know that Kevin is a big (as in BIG) fan of the BV350. :D

So have you kept the VN too or traded it?

Traded it in they gave me a great price. I loved riding it and I will miss it but it was so nice to have a long ride with no aches and pains . I may even go camping again it all became too heavy with the VN. I have to say I was very impressed with Crescent, nice people, nice showroom, huge range of stock (I was able to sit on a Burgman and an X10) and they offered me £800 more trade in than Alfs in Worthing did against a new Maxsym. Going to ride over to Get Gerad this morning they do a nice looking scooter tunnel bag which is cheaper than the Givi one.

Ah OK, I was asking for 2 reasons:

1. One of our club members has a VN900. We don't see many folk in the bike club scene with the VN9 so he doesn't get to "talk-the-bike" with anyone ie share issues, "does yours make this noise?" etc so I'd have invited you out on a run or to one of the open meets to bring it along.

2. I might have had a buyer for it. :o Never mind, there'll be others. :)

Alf's is a weird place for prices and deals. It's almost as if it's "if your face fits". I've heard of rip-off trade in deals before now and recently about someone trading a Bonneville where the deal offered by Alf's was £1000 better than anywhere else. Thankfully I still managed to get a few quid knocked off the price of my W....even after the Missus had told Mick Godfrey I was buying it!!!

Yes I know what you mean about Alfs, their servicing prices are high. I shall do the regular oil changes on mine but still not sure where to take it for the annual going over, Alfs unless I get the heads up for anybody else. Had a nice 120 run today will do a review for the review section later.

Worth asking at TPG Motorcycles if they'll look after servicing.

Highly recommended.

Thanks for that Cap, I have ridden by TPG many times and wondered what they were like I may give them a try. I do like Alfs but was disopointed they offered me such a bad trade in and since they did not have any SYM's in stock at all not sure they were bothered about them. Do you know it used to cost more for my bike servcice than it did to have my 6 cylinder Audi A4 serviced by an independant garage.

Hi Spaceprobe. I've used CD scooters for a few years (ok, it's not very big, but hardly a shed :) ). Funny, Kevin didn't discourage me from buying an X10  (but then, I'd already had an MP3 of him, and I did get a good part/ex with an Xevo400 fro the X10).
I've also used TPG and found them helpful and reasonable.
I'd love to see the Maxsym if your passing Shoreham (or central Brighton, weekdays), looks like a great scoot.
