We needed to buy the vignettes as we were going to use the motorways. Bought them at the border. We were charged €40 and were given 6 Swiss Francs change so they cost about €35/£32. The border guard told us Burgman riders to stick them under our seats but we both, ahem, missed and accidently droped them in with our luggage. I've got mine for sale on ebay at the moment for £25 plus postage (item number 290945833557) which seems to be the going rate. Our friend on the R1 got his one stuck on his windshield by the guard so he can't sell it. You can get away without one if you are not planning on using the motorways but that would have taken longer and would have resulted in an overnight stay which would have cost more.

Funny thing happened to us in Switzerland. I forget where we were but I searched for a hotel on my TomTom and it directed us to the Lumina hotel. My mate went in to see if they had any rooms and the burly bloke behind reception looked at him like he was a complete idiot and said "Yes, we have plenty of rooms and they all have a girl in each one of them". It was then he noticed the collection of porn and condoms on the counter and realised he was in a brothel!

Didn't really like Switzerland - some nice mountain roads and scenery but overpriced, dated hotels and the car drivers are bastards . Whereas most French and Italian drivers would move over to let motorcyclists pass, the Swiss tried to block you and some even tried to force you into the oncoming lane so be careful! Oh, and filtering is not allowed (but we did, fuck 'em!).
