Its because he pleaded guilty to the death but not trying to cover it up.

I'm all for remorse but his actions still had the same result, so sorry but I'm not bothered if he pleads guilty and we seem to reward that because it saves Court time (or whatever the reason is).

Its appalling that someone should only get 2 years for causing a death, but bikers who do stupid speeds (without harming anyone) are jailed for 6 months!

Sadly they would not then plead guilty and the family would have to sit through it all. Whilst I understand your sentiment, I am with the family who thanked him for at least admitting it.

When he doesn't have much of a choice because its obvious? By his own actions of attempting to cover up by getting his car fixed would he have plead guilty if it wasn't so obvious?

I just think its the saddest thing in the world for a mother or father to have to bury their child, its not the way life should be. If I felt like thanking him for admitting to killing my child I could not disguise the fact that it would be said with a huge dose of sarcasm and disgust.

Just my opinion.

And remember this low life did not kill her out right but in moving his car out of the way by driving around her he exposed her to being hit by oncoming vehicles. A car is a weapon which he had been banned from using he should therefore have been given a much longer sentence.
