If you want to be incrementally better: Be competitive. If you want to be exponentially better: Be cooperative.

I like it, I fancied the 400 but that price is a bargain!

I believe they did back then SYM biggest engines were the GTS evo 300 & Citycom 300. The Maxsym was first announced with a 600cc motor then 400cc. Presumably they changed there minds and twisted them around.

Spec wise it's pretty good. Looks like it's more of a Silverwing competitor than the Burgman 650/BMW GT. For those scooters have more gadgets and much bigger price tags. It beats the Silverwing in several areas bigger/more brakes, bigger wheels, lighter and cheaper. Now if SYM are sensible they will give it decent service intervals...

Well, since the Sym UK gives a UK price, it must be available, so it should be in your local Sym showroom right now.......well, thats the theory, anyway!

I can see where your coming from. SYM UK are pretty useless. ie show outdated/incorrect info, ignoring questions.
One thing thats gets me though for example is the service intervals for each country. I'm pretty sure the SYM GTS 250
in France has 5000km intervals - heard on scooter station i think, yet here it's 3000km?

The original carb GTS250 had 1000km service intervals.
3000km or even 5000km is a joke when Honda is 8000 miles.
