Its easy to critise importers but if market isnt there they are not going to want loads of money tied up in stock sitting in warehouses and paying rent rates ect .

Chicken and egg.
If the product isn't available there will never be a market.

The market has to be created, it won't just happen all by itsself.

Take me as a prospective 300 maxi purchaser.
I bought a Forza.
Why?
Largely because it was the only one available in my local market to see and test.

To stand any chance whatsoever the product must be readily available.

Had an email from Kymco yesterday. They are expecting these in early summer with a anticipated price of £4999. Looks good and a good price too. Even more options to make my brain hurt!!

Hopefully here in the UK we will finally catch up with the rest of Europe re maxi scooters, I guess we just need to get more converts, I still get lots of flack here for mine which does start to get tiresome. On another note SYM UK tell me I am going to be the first owner of a Maxsym 600 hope I shall not be the only one

Maybe we need to start a club for owners of very very rare scooters? As I posted in the J300 thread, mine is probably going to be one of just 8 in the UK for the foreseeable future.

Also possible that they don't sell all eight discontinue them and you end up with a super-rare collectors item :)

Making markets is the role of the Marketing Manager. Any marketing manager for any scooter importer that cannot create a market for ABS scooters is a cretin, who shouldn't be shovelling horse shit for the cavalry, much less enjoying a position with a scooter importer. Wants and needs are the fundamentals...

As the man who created a market for Italjet scooters and sold every unit in the warehouse through thinking about who to sell overpriced, under-specified Italian crap to, I know I am right. As the marketing manager who never, EVER, gave a scooter away to any celebrity you ever saw riding one, they need to listen.

As I've gone and done it another six times since in other industries I need say no more.

Price, as my experience and skill reveals, is absolutely irrelevant.

Availability is all.

Except a closed door, which a mind can't open, but even a stupid hand can.
