when you go over 15% less weight you will prob end up with too much clutch slip and heat build up of clutch shoes from expierience :D
I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

Have had a look on the Dr Pulleys website, and have concluded that the Runner needs 21 x 17s for the 200 engine

Standards appear to be 10.7g, so I presume I'd need something like 9.5g to make a worthwhile difference

Is anyone prepared to stick their neck out and confirm whether or not I've got that right?

21x17 10,7 gms x 6

Thanks, Michael, I'm impressed that I managed to get that right

Looks like America might be the best option

i presume you have taken off a variator before :D just make sure you get it back on very tight... dont know off hand the torque number, as you dont want it to come off.. there is a variator holding tool by buzzetti you can do a search for VS18640 there about £15 but if you can get away with an airgun then you will be ok the nut should be ok as not that old, they say to replace every time its off but not necessary , anyways two links here , one for the holding tool which makes the job a lot easier and one for the nut :D
ps i always ring them to see if variator tool in stock before ordering as they tend to dropship instead of holding parts :D

No I haven't actually, I've never owned one before this one, but many thanks for the links

I was going to get a quote from a local independent, they'll probably do it in a fraction of the time it would take me, and have the proper tools for the job

yes a good independant that you can trust and use for future is a safe bet, the dr pulleys go in a certain way so have a good look at pics etc on net as they are shaped and the independant might have never fitted these before as they sling in round rollers usually :D

30 mins labour to fit.......£21 inc VAT at local Ducati dealer

Would be silly to buy the tool for £14 and do it myself really :-)

Can't wait for their arrival to see how much difference they make, should be quite noticeable from the reviews I've read

Don't say that! lol

I was planning to fit those nice "racing" spark plugs everyone is raving about in the other thread and a j-costa or malossi variator next year. If it is as you say maybe I should just fit the spark plugs and start considering a street triple or something more retro/cafe racer.

brisk spark plugs and a sports air filter... dr pulleys and a polini contra spring and thats it your sorted :D
