He bought the x10 from Moto Strada in Shipley West Yorks where the scooter is serviced. The delay with fitting the belt and roller unit was waiting for the parts to come from importer or factory. He is really pleased with the scooter but not with the running cost, suppose there,s always a down side to enjoying yourself.

If SymUK is reading this he must be having a laugh after all the criticism he had to put up with over short service intervals (making SYMs expensive to own) and difficulty in getting SYM parts.

A lot of that criticism of Sym as a brand was from me and it was relative to Honda's 8,000 mile intervals and the problem is not solely cost, there's the inconvenience too.

Anyway, back on topic, there's no way a 6000 mile service on an X10 should cost £180 and a hundred quid a tyre is a complete rip-off.

:?: What on earth do they do on a service at 637 miles that warrants a £114 charge? If I remember correctly, my first Piaggio service (OK it was back in1997) was free. Times certainly have changed.

I've had my X10 since 1st Nov and the 1st service was only £60, i'm getting well in excess of 70mpg and with 1700 miles on the clock I have had zero issues. But I think that I need to look at previous posts because I wasn't aware of any issues with the brakes. What's the story there?

If you look at your service schedule, you will probably find a reference to the need to change 'brake pumps' every 9K miles. Brake 'pumps' turn out to be the master cylinders which are damned expensive....
