That is an outrageous hit on a ten month old bike.
I don't see a 2013 Honda SH300i selling in a dealers for £3200, adjusted for px offer of £2700
I feel that the dealer is taking the p*ss myself. I wouldn't and couldn't accept that. Push for a better deal in the nicest of terms but let the dealer know you want a better offer.
He's a
dealer....... so get a better deal.

i would get dr pulley weights and sliders and a competition air filter to compliment your new brisk plug
it will make you feel like you have a new scoot

honest (a sports scoot)

and every time you get on it then, it will put a big grin on ya fosh, need any help sourcing the pulleys etc just post

your xmax 400 has the same variator as the tmax 500 with 400cc you use 16gm weights as standard, so dr pulleys at 14gms will be the key

Never buy a scooter as a money making investment sales of bikes and scooters are slow. I see them more as a money saving alternative to the mundane, and of course to the horror of public transport.
I'd keep the Xmax and do like Michael says. Dr Pulleys have had a large and positive effect on both my scooters. Also change the screen and make it a nice bike.

The poor old dealers have got 7 wifes and 32 kids to feed you know lol . The trade across the board is changing and the margins on new machines is getting very low indeed . 1 dealer i know is selling 125`s like hot cakes can`t get enough ,but not of the jap brands . He has also virtually stopped selling anything new above 500cc with regards to bikes . However he has been shifting a lot of 2nd hand bikes above 600cc . His stock style is varied and appears to have something for all most of the time . One area he has always been fair has been px and he normally will thrash out a deal without being the in your face type of salesman waving the green book at you ,yes he will show you what it books at then you both go from there .on the srv i got the big service thrown in haggled 500 notes out of the price and got back the money i had paid for my px after 18 months and 12k miles extra . Even recently he gave me a px price for the srv without tagging it too what i was preparing to spend as they normally try to do . So in my book there is always a dealer who will go just that little further and less greedy to make a sale , keep trying and push the point .

Buy low mileage second hand... first scooter I got was brand new and after 4 years I sold it to Phil for £250 probably could have got at least £600 for it... but still at %22 of what I paid for it?
Seeing the loss made me think... I bought my Nexus from JT (Thompsons) for £2500 with 3000 on the clock, 4 years and 25000 miles later I sold it for £1500 a much smaller loss in comparison.
