More likely the "Ducati effect" was that he was was worried that if he came off the throttle he was scared the engine would die.

If the pillock on the cycle was on the phone ( he did not deny he was ) he should have been hit harder.

I hope you're joking! The cyclist could have been hit by a following car and killed.
I don't think it'd be a good idea to go round trying to maim people just because you think they're breaking the law.

I think the pillock on the bike was lucky to only have been hit by a motorcyclist - his talking on the phone (he WAS NOT just distracted by it ringing as he claimed) could have seen him under the wheels of a tipper!

Both are doing dangerous things on a busy road that they should not be doing, the biker is the worse of the two because its plain obvious he should have just ducked in and given the cyclist more room, the biker instigated the incident.

No one should be on their phone whist operating a vehicle on the road or crossing a road, just show you care more about your personal life than others safety.

Funky, you're right. However I hope that biker gets some points on his licence, that was a totally selfish inconsiderate undertake.

Maybe that cyclist will be in his car the next time he sees that bike and will do his own twatish manoeuvre (hopefully).

All the fair weather road-racing bell ends have come out this week where I live and the general standard of riding is shite, zero observation skills and no thought for other road users or what happens when that blind corner overtake is met with an oncoming lorry..... [/rant]

Absolutely! WTF was he thinking? or not thinking? If there's not enough room to filter, and you still try and filter, then an accident will happen! Now I dislike cyclists more than most people (who mostly ride with no regard to any other road user or their own safety) but I really can't see how the biker can try to blame the cyclist who appears to be trundling along in a straight line minding his own business (even if on his phone).

I too agree that the motorcyclist was completely at fault here.

Though I hate that most road users seem to think that mobile usage is ok, including pedestrians. I was cycling home from work today alongside a queue of cars and I decided to count the number of people using their phones to talk or text. It was around 50%. Unbelievable.

Apparently he has had death threats and has been contacted by the police...
