Sounds like a hiding to nothing for Kymco if they did....It'd cost them a fortune to develop, the market isn't that large compared to the massive markets for small bikes & Scoots in the Far East, and the snobby backwards looking trad bikers would dismiss a Kymco big as 'cheap Chinese shit that's a poor imitation of a proper bike' or some such crap, unless it made 250bhp.

"The Xciting might be 19hp down on the Burgman 650 but it’s also 77kg lighter."

That's three bags of sand!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weight and heft kills the fun, scooters have to stay light and manageable to keep the fun! This 400 is on the limit - possibly too big and heavy even so but a fine effort at increasing scooterdom.

I've long said that we need low end hi-torque motors, not high revvers. Honda have seen the light but only with the 700/750 in the NC series so far.

I have a Kymco dealer near me (Piccolo Moto, Colchester). He can obtain a demo model if given enough notice. I'm going to try one at some point. I note that it has 35.54hp (36ps) and 36.8nm of torque. My Burgman 400 has 33.54hp (34ps) and 36.3nm of torque. But my z abs model is 25kg heavier. So I'd imagine the Kymco is much more spritely all round. I wonder how a 6'2" person will fit on it regarding feet forward riding? I tend to be more comfortable over distance like that. It has a slightly shorter wheelbase than my Burger. Exciting times!
