I always thought the original V-Rod was a thing of beauty, albeit as a piece of sculpture, rather than something I'd want to ride!

I likes the XR1200 - to look out anyhows - and looked a lot of fun as a support race in BSB - to own and ride? - no idea!

I have friends who have Harley's but they don't do it for me. I rode one and felt uncomfortable, numb hands through the bar vibration, personally i think they are crap

I have a 14 reg HD Fat Bob and I can tell you it is anything but crap. Different to other bikes, yes, it has vibes at 1800 to 2100 revs but other times she is far smoother than she sounds and you soon learn to ride around it and treat it as "character". The build quality is really good nowadays along with reliability and the street cred is unbeatable. There are a lot of myths about Harleys, spread mostly by people who've never owned one just like "real bike" riders have been known to say about Maxi Scooters.
Everyone is entitled to his opinion but I say each to his or her own. icon_wink-.gif Wales.gif

Vespa GTS300 Super for practical runabout, Triumph Tiger Explorer for conquering the planet. Car almost obsolete.

I'm afraid you are mistaken.

For that type of bike I would much rather go for the Virago, or Dragstar as it is now

I had the first harley night rod in the uk it was everything the other harleys was not in 2005 and the motor was and still are awesome ,but to the HOG owners groups its still not a proper harley lol .The brakes worked great ,however its failings were cheap crap suspension and a dubious build quality on all the chinese ancillaries .I put 58k on my dyna super glide in 2 years it never missed a beat and the 1450 twin cam engine was no slouch . I have never had to change a belt either ,i did fit hagon suspension front and rear and improved the brakes this was then the most comfortable hd for rider and pillion that i have owned .Its a marmite thing really .
