There's something fishy about this Mister Fish. http://bmgscooters.com/ claim to be the "UK'S LARGEST PIAGGIO DEALER".

Maxi-muppets does have a (well used ;) ) "Rant & Rave" Section: http://www.maxi-muppets.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=32

Which you might have missed because it's cleverly hidden at the bottom of the Board Index: http://www.maxi-muppets.co.uk/forum/index.php

WHATEVER you do DON'T left click on "HOME"

Biggest doesn't mean best :-) at least I can sleep knowing 2 of my good friends will be buying their MV augustas from another dealer ...people seem to trust your judgement when you used to work in the industry ;-)

Sorry Globs I know you have had an issue with MotoGB but in my view and of many others others is that not only are SYMs and I expect Kymco rock solid but so is their back. Great vid Fish hope it gets sorted and when you see the light the SYM Mafia door is open to you.

Ha ha I did look at SYM & Kymco/kawasaki but didn't know enough about them to fully trust ... the build quality on the piaggio (apart from bearings) has come on fantastically ...but sadly i didn't do my research on customer service

Actually I haven't really had an issue with MotoGB, sorry if I gave that impression. They do their best and much of their customer service is spot on. However they choose to support many many brands at the same time. MV Agusta (until recently), Enfield, Daelim, SYM, Benelli, Keeway, LML, Hyosung, Etropolis etc - which means at time they appear stretched.

When I said patchy I mean't patchy, not bad. Sometimes very very good, sometimes run off their feet. It's just the business model that you need to be aware of if you expect it to be like Honda used to be. There have been some delays on items I wanted but in general they have managed to supply all parts I have needed without issue. It's an expectations thing - realise that they are often busy and their business model is to avoid shows etc then you'll be just fine with a SYM.

Also in my view SYM still makes some of the best thought out scooters on the market - I'd (just) rather stick with SYM and MGB than move to Kymco at the moment - but it's a fine balance only won by the SYM scooter layout and performance. I'd like them to bring in some colours I could buy - but then look at SYM France that stocked matt and gloss black. I had to look to Spain until I found a buyable Joymax (at which point I gave Piaggio a go instead).

So Spacey, SYM and MotoGB are a better team for me than all the Japanese brands because the Japanese all totally fail to make anything I consider worth buying - and I have considered them all and sat on most too :D
