I think this whole modding stuff is stupid as well, I mean the ridiculous stuff people do with their panels and engine mods just for that little extra speed, much better to stick to the normal color and keep it at stock. Hell I even naw this one guy who had changed his stock rear mudguard just for the latest one because he thought it looked better and made it easier to clean the area, what a waste of money!!!

It's his money to waste, and maybe he wants his to stand out from the crowd, cars motorbikes lorries they all do it and alot is not performance based as in the bling burgervans they just look like a fancy spray job and a few speakers, OK some do variators clutches ect for a 3 second 0-60 improvement, a lot of money for 3 seconds but we all waste money on different things. My son has a Piaggio Typhoon 125cc 2 Stroke scooter that now is 172cc new spray job variator & clutch ect ect and it's now does 90mph, but is too much in my opinion as you always have to lean forward pulling away to stop it doing a power wheelie.... But it's his money and kids love them. My Tmax has a £600 loud exhaust which came on it, would I have paid that for it probably not but now I have it maybe. The old saying " Loud Pipes Save Lives" is very true, well it is filtering through Old Kent Road London with stupid car drivers turning across bus lanes into side roads without thinking bike first and tourists in the West end looking the wrong way at junctions, they all hear you before they see you now.

3.5k spent on my old mk3 tmax and it was 6k new in 2008 at my dealer, dont regret it one bit, loved it apart from pipe gave ya a headache after a while and seat hurt me arse, a fast tmax with a dct gearbox would be spot on as its not a continous drone like a v2 bomber.

The five engine related mods I have done are Brisk LGS plugs, uprated fuel pump, uprated FPR, Sprint Airfilter, light Dr Pulley Rollers and Sliders for total cost of £190 which gets me from a stock 0-60 of 6.5 seconds to 5 seconds (If I remember correctly). The panel work cost me £60 of vinyl wrap and the Plastidip covered wheels cos me £55. LED lighting under the seat and upfront DLR cost about £5. So all in all just over £300. I did all the work so invested about 120 hours of my own time on it, wrapping, soldering, stripping panels, etc.

I like the end result, However because I like to tinker after summer the current wrap will be removed because I feel like a change and am currently working on a new design.

Nice work where did you get the Dr Pulley variator? Did it come with sliders? Have you changed the clutch? I read a H.I.T clutch is ment to speed things up.

I'm with Meldrew on the "Loud pipes save lives" thing being bollox. Some custom exhausts do sound better than the oem ones and aren't too annoying but they are not a safety feature and the really loud ones are just annoying and inconsiderate to everyone around you.



Having said that, I'm all for people making whatever mods they want on their bikes - that just makes life more interesting and at least it's creative. I would probably mod the Integra if I had the time, money and skill to do it well enough (I don't think my bodged sat nav mount made from an old pc case counts as a mod).

Sorry just reread it, so you just changed rollers to Dr Pulley rollers,what weight did you get?

Sadly you can't get a HIT Clutch for a Tmax because its totally different and wet. The Dr Pulleys I go for are 17g most go for 16g which for my preference is too light.

The Sprint Airfilter is a good investment, they can be 3-4 times the cost of standard but will last the lifetime of the TMax, you can literally see through it unlike OEM and only needs a quick blow out to clean it.
