I used to play waterpolo at Portishead. Open-air pool, all year round. It was heated by bringing hot water from the power station in tankers.

The lido is still there. The council closed it years ago, then one of those "community fix-it" programmes came over from the USA and put it back together again. It's run by a charity now, and is great for the town. No power-station heating any more though.rayb wrote:I used to play waterpolo at Portishead. Open-air pool, all year round. Perhaps we can do some trips into Wales, meeting somewhere on the border like Hereford?
