Re: can am
Make sure you have a ride on one. Along some bike friendly twisties.
I had a demo ride when they were first introduced here in NZ, they looked great and felt like a bike when sat on...handlebars, controls in their place, nice big v-twin . So far so good. My initial foray between the cones was a disaster! I bowled 80% percent of them and had 'marshals' running for cover. OK So you don't lean them. The road trip was better and after 30Ks I could relax...a bit. Months went by, maybe I should try again. A dealer in Hamilton, South of Auckland, had a just run-in model with the semi-auto gear change. That I liked. He said 'take it out for a couple of hours, lovely country roads around here'. I had it back in 90 mins. My neck was aching from the strain of having it feel like it wanted to get rid of me on the corners. Like a car- it's going left and you're going right. Sure, the tyres grip and the traction control nanny keeps you in control...so I'm told. It felt like a high C of G with me adding to it.
The 160Ks back home on My T Max were bliss.
But they still look great.

Re: can am
I've read write ups of them that say that they are fun,or at least interesting, to ride once used to them. However, they strike me as combining the worst bits of a bike (cold, wet) with the worst bits of a car (too wide to filter). If I want something that's as wide as a car and fast (on an empty road), I'll buy a sportscar.

Not really, last I checked you can buy the kit version for £30K, insurance is likely high though.ridinhigh wrote:Very nice but it must be in land of Millionres which sadly I'm not
