I'm really enjoying not having to oil a chain or clean spent lube off the rear half of my motorcycle, but I suspect my mood might darken if I suddenly had a £300 bill for a new belt due to an errant stone chip...
Maybe Yamaha should move to shaft drive for the T-Max?
I rode for many miles with a small 8mm hole in my BMW f650cs scarver belt caused by a gravel flint, forgot all about it really until going on a long trip abroad. The belts are strong, the hole got no bigger and I sold the bike.
Yes Dave it did occur to me to just carry on and not worry about it, then I got to thinking they only fitted it in March April time during the recall and it’s under warranty still. Got me wondering if the dealer who I have a lot of time for would replace it. They are making a claim for me and seem optimistic. If they turn it down I may just carry on and keep a beedy eye on it.
We were taking it to the Isle of Wight this weekend (from here in Norfolk) for the Scooter Rally but I’ve chickened out and got some rail tickets in the end. Shame. The weather looks cracking for once. I normally get soaked somewhere along the line....Normally on the A12 in Essex. I think they have it in for me there.
Yes, good news indeed. When I attended the service dept last Tuesday and they examined it they were surprised by the damage as if they hadn’t seen one damaged like this before caused by such a small piece of road chipping. They were optimistic about a warranty repair.
I have to admit I was the pessimist one having read the problems you have suffered.
The dealer here in Norwich is first rate. No one seems to have a bad word to say about their sales and service. However, they are reliant on a good product in the first place. I preferred my last T Max to this one. I know that sounds odd.
