If it was my choice, I'd be looking for a yellow lid to match by now.

If it's going to worry you though, go grey. 8-)

PS: I like the red, too. ;)

I’ve now got a black one offered at £4499 otr and delivered, including a rear rack, short screen and mudflap at the front. I’m thinking black is a splendid choice. And it matches my heart.

There anice looking EX DEmo AK550 on ebay ( or was ) but id shy away from an ex demo myself.

I think I`d keep hearing noises etc etc and wondering !!!!

The engines on these Vespa`s seem great.

Watched a few YouTubes on them.

I’m told they are a bit more sprightly that’s my old one. That was a right laugh which is why I’m getting another one. Plus they are light and simple to manoeuvre, that is important to me.

HI Smeg, for me I'd go for a new one rather than a demo model. The demo is probably quite ok but I've seen the way some folks treat demo bikes. In truth the bike will take it. The GTS is very robust in every way and quite a good bike to run-in anyway as you can use up to 80% power straight away. But avoiding full throttle use is important, as is cruising with a fixed throttle during break in. Choice is yours and either way, it'll be ok even if it's been abused a bit. It's just it messes with my head owning an ex-demo bike. I bought an ex-demo Fiat car a few years back, and these have usually very robust engines. It broke two piston rings in the first year I had it. When I looked in the cylinders with an optic the bores were fully glazed. I was present at the strip down and the engine had been subjected to considerable misuse. That was the conclusion of Fiat too and they tried to pin it on me and avoid paying out to fix it. They didn't succeed. That engine had just 7000 miles on the clock. A total surprise that the engine was affected that way but the conclusion was that during it's time as a demo model it was undoubtedly ragged and it was allowed to run short of oil. Not uncommon I've since discovered. You just don't know how an ex-demo has been treated and/or affected.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Been riding for 55 years & owned too many bikes to list here...

I’m ordering a new one in black later today. With fly screen, rear rack and front mud flap.

Red has always been my favourite colour - and the HPE version would be my choice, all the best with it....
