Haha. I've done that before...
These days l have a little aluminum dusk about 6" round that I put under the side stand.

The disc I place under my sidestand has a disc lock reminder cord attached to it. One end of the cord attached the the disc the other slipped over my rear brake lever. Once on my scooter flick the sidestand up with my foot, whistle holding the chord, and I can use the cord to lift the disc from the ground without having to bend down whilst sat on my scooter.

That’s the sensible way Muddy Fox ! It’s very difficult to retrieve your puck once you are sat on the machine. Using the centre stand is no guarantee of stability on soft ground

That's a good idea.
I'm on my second disk because I rode off and left the first one.
I discovered that a squashed Coke can will do in an emergency.

Anything squashed can act as a substitute in time of need. I was 'loaned' a flattened beer carton when I was in Invercargill at the Bert Munro Rally. The chap next to me parked his bike on the centre stand and had great difficulty moving off after it had sunk into the beach !

I carry three wooden pucks of different diameter and thickness to cover every variety of soft ground or to reduce the angle of lean on the side stand.
Easy to rustle up in the garage from wood offcuts and helps me with my OCD........!

On the original topic, many years ago I had a military style sleeping bag (Survival Aids in Morland). It was a thick shag pile with a waterproof outer, a deep hood and separate sleeves with a full length zip, all very useful if you needed to make a nocturnal visit. With the lower part of the zip unfastened it was possible to drive a vehicle in the bag. I passed it in to a friend and haven't seen anything similar since. It would have been ideal for bivvying etc.

That sounds interesting too. I would like to see a pic of one.
I think I might like to try one of these but they are a bit outside my budget.
