I find it strange that on the Africa you can only connect an iphone,to play music use the maps ect,but on the Forza you can only connect an Android phone,so Honda clearly have the software to connect both operating systems, why not install both systems on their bikes,i’ll have to push my Dealer on that question, but i am happy enough to use my Garmin XT,that has my music on it as well and the phone is connected to the Garmin,so if i wish i can answer it,first bike i have brought from Graftons in Milton Keynes,i have been using Wheels in Peterborough for the past few years, for the Honda and the Big Burgers i have owned, the Tmax i owned came from my local dealer here in Northampton(Motorcycle World)

Wish they did a belt drive on the 750 Forza,it's one of the big pluses of owning a scooter, no messing with chains and oil.

Belts / chains etc....there are pluses and minuses. I find belts aren't worry free - they can wear out and become noisy etc. On the Tmax you have a V-belt that needs changing at outrageous expense every 12k, plus the final drive belt that was very noisy on the mk4, and may or may not need changing at some point at an utterly hideous cost! One thing for the Forza is that there are NO belts to worry about! You have an old fashioned chain of course, which I've never dealt with. My theory is that if I bought one I'd lash out on an auto chain oiler, and that would probably cut out most routine maintenance. It'd need replacing every, I dunno, 18k miles(?), but that probably costs no more than replacing a V-belt. If only Yamaha had kept their original Tmax chain-in-oil-bath final drive....

I can't comment on the T-Max as my 350 Forza is my 1st scooter! But I have had Harleys in the past with over 30k miles on a belt with no real issues. Owned a few Buells aswell also belt drive but they were problematic due to no protection and debris ingress causing early failures, this was rectified on the XB range of Buells which were much better.
Squealing belts tend to be caused by bad alignment or over tensioned belts!
Had many Scotoilers fitted to chain drive bikes over the years, the latest been the electronic version fitted to my SV650 which just got replaced by my Forza!
Without a doubt if your touring or riding year round there a must have on your bike. Your correct saying they reduce maintenance on the chain but I found I still needed to clean the chain regularly through winter, every 2-3 weeks and I also found that when the weather is really bad I needed to run the oil flow rate higher due to road water rinsing the oil off the chain, but doing this covered the rear wheel in all sorts of hard to remove rubbish. On the plus side a chain fitted with a scottoiler requires much less adjusting than one with out! Moving to a scooter the lack of chain was a huge appeal to me as I look forward to not having to clean stubborn oil off things.
Obviously through summer you can turn the oil flow rate right down to just keep a nice film of oil on your chain, this in turn keeps things much cleaner, but as just mentioned winter isn't great.
Belts are expensive compared to chains but can last much longer as I have personally seen, other down side to belts is they can be a royal pain to swap out as they can't be split unlike a chain.
For example a Harley Sportster can be done by the owner in around 30 mins for the cost of just the belt! A big twin Harley for example like a FatBoy will cost you around a £1000 fitted by a dealer as the primary case needs removing from the engine and the swing arm need dropping to get the belt into place.... so yes big pluses and negatives to all final drives.
Personally if they did a belt drive 750 Forza I'd seriously look at one,but would like to know prior the work involved to replace one!

Interesting - as I said, I've never actually owned a bike/scoot with a chain. The Forza's chain is 90% enclosed in a plastic casing, which could keep the chain cleaner than a fully exposed one and maybe stop the road crap washing the oil off (and keep the rear wheel clean). However, cleaning a chain every 3 weeks sounds like a right pain to a mechanical numpty like me! There again, I'm always grovelling on the ground under the Tmax spraying ACF-50 on the centrestand in a desperate attempt to stop it rusting!

Haha, try XCP instead of ACF! Your centerstand tend to be in a "high wash" area. ACF is great stuff but given the amount of water thrown up can wash off given the claims it can't be washed off. They do a marine version of ACF called corrosion block, the same as ACF but a thicker carrier and less prone to wash off. XCP does the same jobs as ACF but like Corrosion Block is thicker and less prone to wash off.
ACF is very good a creeping In to hard to reach places. I use a spray gun and compressor to apply all of the above, if access to a compressor isn't available I recommend sticking to ACF as it sprays easier out of a trigger bottle. If doing it this way, warm the ACF up first as it thins it down slightly and makes it slightly better to spray.
Cleaning chains is a doddle just a messy pain in the backside I'm glad to see the back off for a while, use kerosene to clean the chain,it rips through the dirt and grease but doesn't attack your o-rings
If your using a scotoiler, the oil tends to be much easier to clean than spray on chain lube or wax.
I noticed the little chain gaurd on the 750 Forza so like you say this should help somewhat compared to a fully open bike chain.
Have a look in the cleaning section of the forum,I posted a few pictures of my year round ridden SV650 after a clean, the bike was used in snow, ice, rain salty roads the lot! It was covered in XCP after each wash.

Fancy some handguards but can't find any other than some rubbish on Ali express

XCP? I will have to have a look. Sods law is that I'm just about to run out of ACF, so I ordered some more 2 days ago!
I know what you mean about the stand being a high wash area - most stuff does get blasted straight off. I do have some chassis paint stuff which is thick and gooey, which does stay on...for a while!

I fancied some handguards/knuckle guards whatever you like to call them,i think they could be problematic to fit,if you put the 750 on full lock, the brake lever is already very near the screen,i think if any hand guards are put on,they would hit the screen when turning,if you do sort something out i’ll be interested to see the outcome…
