We are starting to wonder if garages are on the fiddle, the 11 litre tank took 14.07 litres today.

I do believe some garages are indeed on the fiddle. Best example for me is my Daelim S1 125. Normally it took about 7.2-4L to fill when fuel warning comes on. Went to a Tesco garage instead of my usual Esso shot up to 8.8L to fill. Same time of year, riding etc. Filled up at usual garage next time 7.2L again.... Actually noticed nearly every time I go to Tesco with all my bikes the fuel economy plummets or it takes more fuel to fill my bikes. I don't think its the bike that has had a drop in mpg...

Speaking purely for myself and not criticising anyone else for what he or she thinks, I think it highly unlikely that adjustments are being made to the volume of 1 litre of petrol at the pump unless, of course, Local Government, which is responsible for Weights & Measures through the Trading Standards system, are in cahoots with the Forecourt owners.

Would not be surprised if Trading Standards have any staff to check anything nowadays.

Just realised you mean working from home....

We had a local garge now closed, as most now are sadly.

But this was one to be avoided.

Our old Citroen ZX Diesel used to do a very sound 100- 110 miles on a tenner at the time ( going back a bit !!!) and it did sip Fuel. The old superb 1.9D

But if you got short and had to go to that garage you were lucky to get much more than 60-65 ish and it was the same for everyone doing much much less wise.

Might of been crappy Fuel too.

I know our local Diesel now is much better MPG`s wise than Asda for instance.

A woman from the village drives down to London, the Big Smokey place, and it takes much less to fill up again there, than when she gets back here.

if you will, the drive down she uses a lot less.

Its maybe downhill though ( ahem !!! ), sort of feels like it should be, the country is tipping a bit towards the south east by a few cm`s !!! I think.

I know my old T Max ( carbs ) seemed very sensitve to crap petrol to me.

Ran like a dog on certain ones and sweet as a nut on good stuff.

The Silverwing seems less complainey !!! even OK with E10 I think !!!

Regarding weights and measures checks etc it seems everything is dropping to bits in the UK currently so doubt they are checking much.

The poor old country is going backwards at a rate of Knots sadly !!!

I have a one Litre mixing container and will do some garage tests based on the above posts.
Do we still refine our diesel and petrol in this country? In Kent we have storage tanks (more being built), but refineries are gone.
It must be a good earner, storing the stuff, buy low in bulk, sell high.
