Re: Smart key Questions
I too switch the key off every time, primarily to stop anyone getting the code but also to save the battery in the key. In fact I only found out you could by reading the manual after I had bought one of those signal blocking wallet things. Moral: when you get a new scoot (or any other form of transport) read the manual straight away. Obviously not all keyless systems are like this. Otherwise there would be no market for signal blocking wallets.

Re: Smart key Questions
I still use the wallet. No electronic device is ever truly off unless the power is disconnected. Can't do any harm.

Re: Smart key Questions
Cheers Andy. It would appear that the main battery is completely dead. That is why I cant start it.

Re: Smart key Questions
I will shortly take delivery of a Super Cub which has a similar system. Researching similar questions I found this helpful youtube site:
It may not be exactly the same system but this clear advice is a lot easier to follow than the owners handbook!

Re: Smart key Questions
The battery dies in 5-10 days as its tiny. Keep it connected to a optimate or similar. Connecting a charger if you don't do this is a right faff.

Re: Smart key Questions
Never had this issue on mine. I did replace the OE battery because it was an unknown and on the Elefant rally etc. I expect it to live outside at cold temperatures. I have always followed the sequence of turning the fob off (Dobles delivery man explained it well) but do use the alarm. I leave it for 6+ weeks over the summer and it starts on the button.
I wonder if they fixed something on the updated versions? Mine does have the proper oil filter, claimed extra 0.002 HP, pillion seat, grey paint etc.
I have external charger leads on both SuperCub and Forza. The alternative methods of opening the seat to access a flat battery are nice to know but not something I ever want to try in anger (and I would get angry!)

Re: Smart key Questions
Which begs the question what's different?
USB ports are a favourite. I'd be on the hunt. Get a proper ammeter in series with the battery and play with the off positions on the knob and fob.
The battery is rated at 3.5 Ah, but let's assume 3-ish in real life. Flat in 168 hours means you are looking for 18 milli Amps, so hopefully detectable without popping the internal fuse.
The Forza 350 BTW is essentially identical. The fobs are styled differently but that's it.

Re: Smart key Questions
The cub doesn't have usb. The manual says it will discharge in 10 days. The ADV350 was flat this morning.
