Both the BMWs look much better in the flesh, ad both are supremely comfortable but its hard to get past the iffy quality and all those expensive exposed parts underneath. Cant see them bringing four pre production models, I bet they are the finished models

Nice pics. Thanks Barry. Looks more manageable than EICMA!

I like the shape of the tmax, but the paint is too matt for my liking. I'm loving the Nexus...i mean Aprilia!
..any idea what cc that is, Barry? ..and that second BMW is fugly compared to the sporty version.

StillI'd raher have the Symba sold here with dodgy info than not at all.barryG wrote:
I love this, SYMs copy of an old Cub... bit steep at 2k and although it quite clearly has a manual gearbox and a chain, SYMs info says its a CVT system![]()
I asked about the possibility of the Symba coming to the UK 2 years ago and was told by Sym's then importers, Moore-Large (incidentally now importers of CPI!) "The Symba won't ever be imported into the EU, it won't meet present EU regulations." Either they were incredibly stupid or lying! That's the bike I most want to see on Tuesday when I visit!

Yes it is rather fetching, strangely I quite fancy one but not with 110cc!
The Nexus with the Aprillia paint was a 300cc, as were the Yourbans and MP3 but the Bev had a 350cc. Kind of doesnt make sense having a Bev with a bigger motor than a supposed sporty Aprillia... oh and its still exactly the same everywhere else as when it was a Gilera.
Oh, and they never brought an Xevo.... maybe the end is nigh?

Good bloodline too, Baz.
Sym used to make the old C90 cub under licence from Honda to be sold in their home market.
When Honda pulled the licence Sym chose to keep producing "Cubs" and to develop the bike their own way.
Heresy I know but the Symba is a far nicer progression than the Innovas/Waves that Honda punt out as the Cub's logical development.
...and for a Cub, 110cc is all you need.

Re: NEC BIke Show SCOOTER photos and write up.
Some old guy saw me looking at it, came over and warned me it was Chinese and that he sees loads of chinese scoots all rusting along Worthing sea front and that after a year they get put in a skip
I told him these were Taiwanese and seemed well made, he says its the same place and you cant tell how well made it is by looking and said go and buy a ten year old Honda! I tried to convince him that SYM arent Chinese and make some good scoots unlike the Chinks but he wasnt having non of it. Quite a few kids seemed to love it... I look stupid on one being 6 foot 2"
