can't believe it's been a year since we lost Stuart, why does it happen to the good ones, back on topic I say wear what you want to wear but be aware of what can happen, I wear all black bike gear & ride a black bike with lights on, the problem is others just don't look I should know I've been hit enough times & living in sheffield I often nearly get took out they just don't look so whatever you wear won't make much differance

If it makes any difference at all, that might make all the difference.

"Much" difference?
Anyone play the lottery? So you're chance of winning the UK lottery is 1 in 14 million IIRC, people do it for that small chance.
If wearing dayglo gives you a 1 in 14 million chance of catching the eye of a cager that would otherwise kill you, is it worth that chance?

There again, I've noticed that if you do have lots of high vis gear with a White Helmet, car drivers DO notice you as they think you might be a policeman - even if you are on a tiny scooter!

The actual odds would probably be far better than that.
Struggling to grasp what you mean by "worth it"?
Personally I can't see that there is any downside to wearing hi-vis.

I agree, I've noticed how they immediately start driving to the speed limits when I come up behind them, one scrap collector even pulled over to let me pass

each to there own, I won't call anyone who wears hi viz or not, if the cagers arn't looking they will hit you, my best example so far a woman hit me from a parking space on a one way street

yes I was in front oh her but she didn't look & just pulled out hitting the back end of my majesty, so regardless of what I was wearing she still would have hit me as she was basicly blind (not looking ) we are all at risk that's part of riding, personally I would like to see regular eye tests for all drivers/riders as some seem blind.
Tim, yes I must admit the white helmets seem to get noticed but none of us are safe not these days.

Two wheelers have always been and will always be inherently dangerous.
If you don't want the increased risk of riding a two wheeler, then don't ride one.
It's as simple as that.

I'm the third one on left
I am proud to wear mine, I have started wearing it for work too. I do get told alot that i'm ugly but I don't care.

It's like a uniform now on my bike. Will not stop wearing mine and because I use for work too I will need to order another one soon.
