Yes and we have one of the most expensive fuel prices in the world. So are you going to stop buying fuel! So even the Honda is cheaper in France with the latest model. Better not buy one of them either! And hope I haven't made any typing mistakes or I will get slated from the online spell checker! :-)

No mate, silly is a 37 page topic because a bloke in Brighton buys a new scooter. :)
I guess it just goes to show how much interest there is in these big SYM's, its only by promoting interest in all big scoots that we can chip away at the silly British attitudes to them. That way we get more choice, more bikes to try and cheaper prices.

Loads of peeps have contributed to this thread. Why? Because most of them will have a passing interest (at least) in a new larger scooter. Plus the fact that SYM have a pretty good reputation in the main around the world. If it's silly 37 page thread - why are you still reading and still commenting on this very thread? Most threads I will have a glance at and I might make a comment or two then move on. Yet low and behold 37 pages in and this thread is still going strong.
As for typos - I'm afraid they're all to common with me.... There's only so much my phone can correct.

I concur with wozza above.
Spaceprobe has not bought just a 'new scooter'; he's bought a 'new' scooter, the first of a new generation of big scoots, from a different player icon_bleh.gif

There are some interesting topics on this... icon_nicethread.gif, that's why I keep popping back to this one. Keep it up everyone.

I'm a little surprised to read that the Maxsym 600 is a lot cheaper in mainland Europe though, (perhaps I'm not). Yep, I can think of a few sh*tty reasons why we are asked to pay that premium.

I looked into doing this with the Maxsym 300 last year before I decided to make the switch away from MotoGB.
It turned out that the french colours of black or black were a bit limiting, but I found a decent store in northern Spain that sold silver ones with ABS for a very good price.

The plan was to fly over one-way on ryanair and ride it back - it would have been fun!

With my X10 order I found they were actually cheaper in the UK, which was nice... I'll have to actually finalise that soon, I was waiting for a new driveway to be finished but that went bad so I just need to get it done in June as my insurance runs out on the GTS then.

Poor old SYM get it in the neck from a few on here just for trying to give us what we want. But they are still a growing brand and I've got to say, fairly well known in Essex and Suffolk due to dealers being in both counties. But Steve at SYM is right about exhibition costs. The fact you can get a small plot at the NEC for a couple of grand is not what it's about. They would need a fair sized plot to be credible. Even more costly. The cost is about a whole bunch of things. It's enormous for small firms. And to be clear, SymUK is still quite small in the overall event of things compared to the Jap firms, but growing. Our engineering show we did for just 6 days (over ten years ago). Floor space was just £2.5k but the other costs put it up to over £18k. And we didn't have expensive large scooters to haul around. Just engineering parts and small engines all of which fitted into a 10 ton truck. I guess to the public things tend to be black and white but it never is in business. Business has to be realistic about costs and I can foresee the day that SYM will be in a position to exhibit at shows in the future as they grow if they wish.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Oh, forgot to say this is truly eye openingly good about how SYM is striving to be better and to no doubt grow. And interesting too from the point of our own attitudes towards SYM and other brands. Excellent thread.
