8th October 2015 - Changed the oil with Fully Synthetic at 3762 miles, all 1100cc

Today had fitted Dunlop Scootsmart front and rear tyres by our own workshop at 3810 miles.
I have never been 100% happy with the factory fitted Schwalbe tyres, the cornering was never precise and the worst issue was the steering had wobble whilst slowing down from about 50-40 mph with no hands. I know do not take your hands off, but I have always tried this once on all bikes to prove its trueness.

The mechanic knew of my technical issue and he stated that the Schwalbe tyres had different tread patterns and would cause my issue, after his tyre fitting and compulsory test ride he stated that there was no wobble at any speed. Driving home tonight it was a totally different ride, no front wheel wobble (with no hands) and it cornered precise and smoothly where previously on the same long sweeping bends I would have to always correct it's line. It's like buying and riding a new bike again

I could not get the exact front Schwalbe equivalent of 120/70-14 61S and the nearest in a manufacturer matched pair was a Dunlop Scootsmart 120/70-14 55S with the same rear of 140/60-13 63S.

Wondered why I didn't feel confident on bendy roads, compared to my 125cc motorcycle

As the scooter has front daylight running lights fitted as standard, I wonder if it would be legal to:

1/ fit an on off switch for the headlight so I can turn it off in daylight

2/ turn off both the headlight and tail light in daylight

As far as a can research, vehicles since 2012 needed DRL's to the front at a certain lumens and the motorcycle industry agreed not to fit an on\off switch, so I think your points could be valid and a reasonable suggestion. I have recently seen a couple of new Chinese bikes\scooters that still have a manual on\off light switch and so the dipped beam does not come on automatically, which I thought was not allowed since 2012?

I would think our two front circular DRLs would be adequate, but I'll ask our MOT guys next week.

Be careful disabling the main lights on a machine that normally has them on all the time. Unless I am mistaken, on many bikes the regulator just dumps excess current to earth giving off heat in the process. Without the lights on it will have to dump more power than it was intended too. If it can't get rid of the extra heat it could get damaged or its life shortened.

I may be wrong in this naturally
