Liam,if you do the Ironbridge thing in the morning (it's well worth a look

), then you could come to mine for a cuppa & join myself & Alan + a few more muppets for the ride over if you like bud.
Ironbridge to me is about 10 min's, my planned route is quiter A roads, should be a touch over 1 1/2 hour ride, let me know bud & I'll message you postcode etc

We're booked in at the Buckatree hotel which is just down the road from Bern. So we might just have a look at Shrewsbury then meet back at Berns for when others get there. (Or have a lie in and straight to his)
Then have a group visit to Ironbridge.
Is there an estimated time of meet up at your place Bern?

Ohh Buckertree, VERY nice food there bud.
If you arrive early & feel energetic take your camera & go for a walk up The Wrekin, stunning views of the Shropshire Plains to the North & Ironbridge Gorge to the South (cant' see the bridge itself from there but the cooling towers of the (soon to be demolished) Coalbrookedale power station are easily picked out)
Timing, further back int the thread it, it was mentioned but as with all things is currently in a 'state of flux', possibly it would be easier to work out 'backwards' ? What time do we want/need to be at Rhyader by ?
Visiting Ironbridge is easy as it's only one turning different on a roundabout we will be going over anyway, then go along the old valley road instead of nipping down 'the bypass' ,increase in riding time is only 10-15 min's so no worries there.
Is it just the bridge & toll booth that peeps want too see ?Toll booth has the obligatory souveniers, but also has lots of pictures & information plaques on the bridge over the years, then if peeps have good eyesight (& decent zoom on cameras) there's the ever popular 'hunt for the face of Abraham Darby "game"'
Are there any bear collectors in the group, we will pass Merrythought's on route.
How many bikes are we likely to be ? (I has a bearing on parking) generally if it's clear bikes park on the wide pedestrian footpath North of the bridge, if it's being used for anthing else we will most likely need to use a carpark, will nip down the on Wednesday & look to see if there are bike spaces in the bigger carpark South of the bridge
