Data Re the burgman whine I would have thought more likely the one in exhaust hanger bracket opposite side of wheel to transmission as they are exposed .

Yes Data sorry to hear about the wife, if you need any sort of support let me know and pass on my best wishes to her.
Sounds like its time for the Burg to go, and you just know what you have to replace it with

Sorry you cannot come out to play, don't ever sell the scoot, your our long term tester for the burger, as Pikey says, try that exposed bearing on the swing arm bracket, use a chain spray aerosol with a little tube pipe extension to see if it quietens it down (always works on my boiler fan bearing when it starts frying).

Thanks guys. Mrs Data is on 'Ondanzetron' (spelling from memory). She is comfortable but not well at all. Spaceprobe will know what that is.
Yeah...Pikey, Dave, that bearing I've checked. It's ok. I called it the right hand rear drive shaft bearing. Dunno what you'd call it for sure. But it's fine. There's not much else to look at except the gearbox internals. But it's not a big deal. These Burgmans are very simple to work on as you guys prolly know. The gearbox is a doddle to strip and fix. Not an engine out job or anything like that. Only a bit more complex than a clutch strip believe it or not. Might need a smaller sets of bearing pullers as all mine are for bigger bikes and cars. Main concern is Mrs Data just for the mo.
Thanks all for your best wishes. I hope you all have a super ride out and I'll follow on here.
Halfbusa, hope to see your new bike soon too. Bye for now.

That's quite an effective drug but it can be harsh. Thinking of you both you know how to get in touch if you need to chat.

Have you actually taken bracket off and felt bearing .I had one go on my Helix couldn't feel anything with it on the stand on the road could feel it destroying its self .I rode back from Plymouth on it at a steady pace with overnight in Portishead and got me home .

Sorry, mate, i appreciate how much effort goes into a rideout, and it's no fun watching people drop out. Deffo next time, and maybe we can incorporate Duxford into it again? ... good luck, hope all goes well.Funkycowie wrote:Down to 11, sorry to hear about Mrs Data, Barry theres always another time...
