Well, you CAN buy a Harley if you want low down torque! I guess the answer is that bike engines are more highly tuned than say car engines so you need revs. Would it affect the CVT either way? Presumably the trick is to set up your engine and CVT so that their characteristics matchStephenC wrote:With all this tech talk going on (very interesting, pls carry on): can someone tell me why we have to put up with engines which don't develop peak torque and hp until stupidly high up the rev range? Surely peak torque at around 2500rpm (as opposed to 5000rpm) would suit CVT much better, giving us improved mpg and longer life expectancy?

Re: 2013 Honda NSS300 Forza
I could be wrong, but I always believed that bike engines, (particularly singles), ran at high revs to make them feel smoother, and two strokes have to, because the power band is always up the top end.

Are you going to test one gn. Looks a very handy bike indeed.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Re: 2013 Honda NSS300 Forza
Will do if the local dealer gets a demonstrator in, but am seriously pissed off with the PCX right now and am not sure if I want to give Honda my custom.
Had been planning on a new Forza in the spring next year but tbh at the moment its looking more like I will opt for a used Sym GTS or Downtown or Xmax or Majesty or X10.

right gn2, this might be worth a try.
About 4 years ago I had a problem with a just out of warranty 650 transalp, went through my dealer with a claim and it dragged on , then I contacted honda UK customer services, who opened a case, I asked them for a quick response, saying 'your thoughts on this matter would be apreciated before I write a letter explaining my bad honda expierience, and send it to T+G, MCN, Bike ,Ride, ect.' I then got a replacement part fitted . If they offer the part only, this surely means they are accepting responsibility and should offer parts plus labour too.

Get as much as you can "nicely" and then ramp it up
Like Horibags says, bad publicity is about your only weapon. I would add Parking it outside a honda asset with a massive sign everyday, invite papers etc
