nearly 12000 miles.
Belt + Dr Pulleys + Service + MOT = £305
But all sorted for a while apart from the rear brake pads need doing in the next 1000 miles.

Yesterday: cleaned all the squashed insects off the front at last. They've been over-wintering under the cover.
I used Autoglym Insect Remover; it's not the cheapest but it does the job exceptionally well with the minimum of effort.
Rode the Silverwing up to Stonehenge today to see my ex who drives the buses there and to do a bit of Shuttle-Bus Surfing; I catch his bus and ride with him just to chat.
I haven't actually visited the stones themselves for years!

Best bug remover is just laying up some wet tea towels over said areas and go make a cuppa remove towels and wash off ,never fails .

No it isn't.
I've done that often and decided to use 'stuff'.
I used to buy some in a spray can - it worked well.
I did my research and chose the Autoglym.
Spray on, leave for 30 seconds and wipe off with a lint-free cloth. Not a mark left.
Maximum effect. minimum effort.

Yesterday - took it on one of my favourite rides. From home up to Carlisle, Longtown then Kielder Water for lunch. Home via Tyne Valley, Alston and Penrith. Clocked 215 miles, and felt a bit knackered at the end. The Vespa suspension does really well, but small wheels and crap surfaces don't help and I was getting a fair shaking. Been wondering about suspension upgrade but not convinced that it's value for money.

I used to think suspension upgrades where crazy money for no gain.
On both bikes I've fitted hagon shocks to I've never regretted it and can only say the ride improved (or its a placebo to justify the cost)
Either way it is a major investment which I would only do on long termers & still have to convince myself as its an expense you don't visually reward from (how much fuel would a pair of twin shocks buy and how far could I tour argument)

Went to Wales over the weekend with the B King owners club to keep them honest with the big Burg. Had a good giggle caning the nuts off the bike on the twisty's and proving that though it had 100BHP less than the rest the Burg can handle rather well in manual mode being ridden like an RD 350. Chews through oil though so must remember to take some with me to top up next time!
