i know not brill photo, but this is the box i use ,the GIVI e55 maxia3. £240 i think i paid for it and i had the soft lining option aswell.the best of the givi's iv'e had by far, even has two stays to hold box lid open rather than the usual bit of plastic to stop opening to far..an if you want to be flash you can have it as remote open too...
Good friends don't let you do stupids thing alone .

I don't know if Suzuki do different size boxes but in France earlier this month I saw a Burgman with a genuine Suzuki top box on it. It was exactly the same as my Givi V46 monokey with 'Suzuki' written where it says 'V46' on mine.

I have ordered a Suzuki kit, should be here today. Cost £328 for the box, rack, pad and top cover. The Givi without the cover would have been around £250, but the Givi rack is bulky whereas the Suzuki one is nice and I really wanted a coloured top cover.

nothing wrong with carrying heavy stuff in the top box, i used to carry loads of heavy shopping on my burgman 650's top box and even did it in the tmax's top box. Those items included stuff like 4 packs of 2lt coke + some other heavy liquids, etc.

I paid about the same for my Givi setup but that also came with the brake light kit and the internal liner although I bought the plain cover and painted it to match. My mate has a gen Suzuki mounting plate (Metal, with a 'S' logo) on his burger and I must admit it looks better than the Givi one with the box off. I'd be interested to see whether the top box you got from Suzuki is the Givi V46. Can you post a picture up when its done?

My Suzuki parts department told me that Suzuki do not manufacture their own top boxes, they just buy them from Givi with the Suzuki logo on it, however Suzuki advertise theirs at 49 litres and so technically not 46 litres as the v46? and I agree that the Suzuki mounting plate is better.

barrrG, did you not push them for a discount. As I posted on page one of this thread my dealer offered me 15% off my quote of £321.89 (the 650 rack is about £7 less than the 400).

They offered to fit for free, but when I spoke today they couldnt do it for 2 weeks so picked it up myself and did it. I guess I could have got a discount but hey! Its not a V46, looks different but does have the monokey logo inside but a Kappa sticker on it. The rack is great, fits very tight to the body and the box is mounted forward rather than hanging out the back loads.

The coloured top cover looks brilliant and the backrest is very soft so Jen should like that.

I will post up some pics when I take them.

Ah, that seems logical it being a Kappa as they do a K49 model (Same code as Suzuki use and it's a 47 litre). FYI apparently Kappa was started by the daughter of the Givi founder, hence why they are probably near identical to each other.

Ah, it seems good quality, a little stronger feeling than the Shad that was on My Xevo anyway. Only iffy part is the rear reflector, you put it in yourself and the fit is a bit fiddly. It was the simple rack that did it for me :D
