Re: I've been thinking
I've been thinking about downsizing the Tmax to a SH300 for some time now. Haven't been able to go through with it so far as I love the Tmax but an extra 30mpg is getting harder to dismiss plus i reckon I could take the Sh300 on the back of my campervan where as I couldn't with the Tmax!

How long is a piece of string!! I guess it should do around 60mpg, obviously less if you thrash it, and more if you dawdle around in a leisurely fashion....StevenM wrote:i know what you mean love the tmax but my wallet doesnt, been looking at this burgman 400 now and i quite like it but dont know what mpg it is, does any know this?

Dawdling around.... over 80mpg, normal riding around 70mpg and thrashing it will see it drop to low 60s.

Personal view is it'd be a drastic change to swap to a B400 for fuel saving alone, as the benefit wouldn't be huge (unless you're doing 20k a year).MrGrumpy wrote:How long is a piece of string!! Better option for me (enforced in my case) is an SH125 and run that alongside the TMax. Mine was £650 to buy, insurance on a multi-bike policy cost me £25 a year, £16 tax, £30 MOT, parts are really cheap and 1 ltr oil every 2.5k miles (no filter) & it'll return 90-100 mpg. If you're 175miles a week is 5 x 35 mile two-way runs I'm sure a 125 will cope.
55mpg v 95mpg @ £1.40 per ltr will save you £8.50 a week in juice (only going to increase too), plus maintenance cost saving using cheap 125 versus TMax, you just need to have the spare dosh (and space) to buy one.

Re: I've been thinking
If anyone is interested in my tmax I'm looking at selling or swapping to get a burgman 400 07-09. Genuine offers only.
