Re: Legal right
Well I was going to see if they wanted to buy it back lol, and see what they say, because they do say we buy any bike lol, also the dealer thats done the work said the book price for a 2008 with 19000 on the clock is £4700 so to buy it for £3400 I should have realised something was wrong.

Re: Legal right
Have you told the dealer your problems?, have you given them a chance to sort them or compensate you, if not speak to them, if they are not interested then get proper legal advice or burn them down lol.

Re: Legal right
What you paid for it is irrelevant unless the dealer identified known issues to you, if it was sold as "straight" then it should be and you have a reasonable expectation of it being fit for purpose, but as said the duration of a secondhand warranty is the awkward bit.Earl wrote:Well I was going to see if they wanted to buy it back lol, and see what they say, because they do say we buy any bike lol, also the dealer thats done the work said the book price for a 2008 with 19000 on the clock is £4700 so to buy it for £3400 I should have realised something was wrong.
As said give them a chance to correct any issues (cost free) and if they refuse call CAB to understand your options.
Having done so fairly recently about my busted B650 I know (having then spoken with Trading Standards) that the "lifetime" of any goods is 7 years, so if there's any manufacturing defect that has meant you cannot use the item for it's purpose for that period you have recourse. However I suspect your issues are more relating to servicing and maintenance rather than a design or assembly defect.
