Blimey! That's cheap riding...very good. I've covered about 160 miles the last two days and in mixed traffic conditions at all sorts of speeds on all sorts of roads, but mainly 60ish mph...and she is showing18.2mpl which is 82.6mpg something or other. Pretty pleased with that too. Just loving this scootering malarky...glad I made the change from big bikes.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Re: all new sym gts 300i
That can't be right mate as if you had a half tank left then you could get another 254 miles and I don't know of any scoot that can return 508 miles to a tank. Maybe I read it wrong.phantom309 wrote:it's about the same as melpotter has said....not sure though as i just fill it up when empty..but last trip filled to top ,did one fill up £10 to come home an did 254 miles round trip..an still had half tank left..

Re: all new sym gts 300i
Well my GTS 250 returns 85-87mpg @ typical busy A-road 50-60mph depending on traffic.
But I did a 40mile trip and back (80miles total) up the A303. Around 40 miles was at 50mph and
the remaining 40miles was at dual carriage way speeds 60-70mph at near WOT at times. I was
expecting low 80's/high 70's and rather shocked to find I'd actually managed 90mpg
!!!
I'd reckon the new 300 would probably be capable of achieving at least 85mpg so around
30km/L on average. Though 38km/L will be over 100mpg!
I have to admit though it's a little pricey. My GTS 250 cost just £3000 in 2008. SYM Maxi prices have
risen to match the Italians and nearly some Jap models...

Sym don't sell many 300s at £3800 never mind whacking an extra £500 on top.
Can't see it doing well even though it will probably be an excellent machine.

Re: all new sym gts 300i
Actually they don't all come with fog lights, my previous scoot was the GTS EVO 125 carborated version and it had the lenses for the fog lights but there were no actual lights and apparently the wiring loom didn't actually support them either.Drago wrote:poldark wrote:Is this one of the new ones, I think it must be as it has fog lights, if so then still £3800?
