On my test ride, it seemed to combine some of the worst features of a bike and scooter - no weather protection and the vibes of a bike, with a dodgy CVT scooter transmission. There seemed to be a terrible lag between opening the throttle and something happening, which couple of testers have mentioned still occurs on the Aprilia SRV with the same engine & transmission. It did go well though.....

I am a fan of both naked bikes and throttle lag. I KNOW way sad, but I had a street triple R and it was too quick off the mark for my carpal tunnel hands to cope with. I am much better with a decent lag. Now I am even more intrigued

It'd be nice if we could have the best features combined in a scooter (looking at you Honda). I.e. the storage, comfort, low maintainence and weather protection of a scooter with the performance and suspension of a motorbike. The Integra should have been that combination but Honda elected to make it cramped and have not much storage a bit like the SH300/125 which is a shame.

You can guarantee with every scooter/bike debate the 'Weather protection' comment turns up, if you want weather protection use the car. A decent pair of over trousers do the job for me and I ride all year round coz I don't own a car plus I can't drive.

@ Mr Grumpy what gear mode did you ride it in on your test ride, 'Sports gear' on mine goes like s**t off a stick, hence I don't use it much. LOL!

You definitely need to have ago on a NC700 DCT then....

On the NC700 I just leave it in D mode and never bother with S mode. If you open the throttle quickly even in D mode the box kicks down a gear for the extra acceleration anyway.....Spot on!

All I'll say about the mana is, at the age of 44 I still smile like a retard everytime I've been on it, I've not smiled like that since I owned my Dragster, the Nexus didn't make me smile at all it was just a means to get about.

I was in standard mode....I was on a sort of Aprilia group test ride thing, and I didn't have time to stop and work out how to change modes! I had great problems in corners (it went pretty well from a standing start). Obviously I braked into a corner, but when I opened the throttle at a normal time, nothing seemed to happen for a while so you ended up rolling dead into corners. No doubt with practice you'd get used to opening the throttle before you really needed it....

OK lets divert this thread to discussing the NC700 (again).....I've just been reading an old MS&L mag from when the N700s came out, and someone describing the features of the DCT. He said that the 'kick down' mode did work, but was hellish slow before the ECU finally decided that well, OK maybe economy isn't that important and a change of gear might be useful to preserve life - does it work better than that in reality? And the article also said that it puts itself back in Neutral every time you stop, so you have to select D or S every time to start off - Does it really do that, and isn't that INCREDIBLY ANNOYING???
